About Us Here at The Playbox, we have NDNA and is CIW registered, reassuring you that we are more than capable of caring for your children.
Both Playbox nurseries offer a very high standard of care in a secure and friendly environment in which children can develop individually their social, emotional, physical and intellectual skills.
Playbox opens from Monday to Friday between the hours of 8.00am and 6.00pm. We close on Public Holidays but are open the rest of the year, throughout school holidays and Christmas.
The nurseries are registered with Care Inspectorate Wales. Care is provided primarily through the medium of English while Welsh is used throughout activities.
Playbox is committed to the highest standards of childcare recognising the unique importance of the pre-school years. We believe that every child should be provided with the opportunity to develop, play and learn at their own pace in a relaxed and caring environment. We give our assurance that we will treat all children in our care with equal concern regardless of their gender, ethnicity, religious persuasion, cultural and linguistic background and physical or mental ability.
We offer full or part-time day care in any combination of full and half days. Flexible arrangements can be accommodated for children of parents who work shifts or variable hours.
At Playbox we are pleased to welcome children with a range of abilities, including children with specific additional physical and learning needs. If your child has additional needs, we can discuss these at your first visit and you can tell us all about your child's achievements and goals and how we can help to reach these goals. We work with other agencies such as health visitors and social workers where this is of benefit to the child.
Brandreth Road accepts 36 children between the ages of six weeks and five years. The nursery cares primarily for children under the age of two; and sometime after their second birthday, when we feel they are ready, children move up to Bronwydd Avenue, which provides daycare for up to 40 children up to a maximum of eight years.
Partnership with parents We recognise the importance of working in partnership with parents. We welcome comments - whether favourable or expressing concerns - and suggestions. Parents may discuss their child�s progress with their key carer and the Nursery Manager at any time.
Joining Playbox Parents are welcome to make initial contact by phone or email, or by visiting the nursery. A visit is encouraged so that the family can decide whether Playbox feels right for them. If Playbox is chosen to be the childcare provider, then we ask for a registration form to be completed. A member of staff will go through our 'registration pack' which includes relevant policies and the contract between the nursery and parents. We suggest that children have some settling in sessions in the two weeks before starting.
Complaints and concerns Parents may raise specific concerns or complaints with the Nursery Manager during nursery hours or with Mr or Mrs Miller at any time. We have in place a system that ensures your concerns are dealt with in a personal and professional way.
